Selling a used boat that is made to order?
 

In th process of unwrapping my project again, I was wondering if I were to put it for sale and giving potential buyers the option to pick colors, paint, gauges, etc as if it were a new boat save for the hull and drive train. would that be attractive.....I have seen alot of airplanes sold this way...almost like remanufacturing it and ordering the way you like......without spending $1,000,000.00 for a new one

anyone want to share thoughts?

what kind of boat is it? sounds like a cool idea. make mine #6's w / 1000's

If I remeber correctly, Sling's boat has at least 1000's and #6's......3 of them. :eek:

I would advertise that you are willing to do it THEIR way and see if you get any response. If not, you can always finish it and offer it complete.
If I was in the market, I think the idea would appeal to me.

I have a project 1968 Firebird sitting in front of my shop with a SBC. A guy left a note on the windshield asking if it was for sale. I told him I would put a Pontiac engine in it if he wanted.
We'll see...
