The new Mercury 600 was old news by the time it made its first public appearance..Whats the deal with the new 850?No one knows anything about it and POOF it has arrived?Have I been living in a cardboard box or what??

Did anyone here about a new Mercury drive other than a Bravo or a #6.That sort of leaked out.But you didnt here it from me. :D

Buddy of mine was on a 32 Skater Yesterday with these new engines. I think its safe to say, its out now!
Going to the show this morning, I'll see if I can't get pictures! And..............poof! :) |

557 CI Lysholm superchargers Huber 1450 trans Retail about 85k, no drive. Dealer price probably mid 60's k , no drive. Its the 1050's little brother. |

Let's see, how long ago was it that Merc discontinued it's 572 cid 850hp motor/SSM3a or 5 drive package. They should have saved the R&D investment and kept offering the old package at a reasonable price.

Yep, what Gary said was a sweet setup. Merc has made an ton of cash off people buying new bravos a couple times a year, if they are running a bigger boat with some horsepower.The 3A and the #5 are great drives.

Basically a detuned 1075 engine, specs are:
557 CID tall deck Dry sump Distributorless ignition 850 HP :eek: 800 RPM idle :) :) Full throttle range: 5500 - 5800 RPM # 6 drive Three stage sea pump: Two for block and heads, one for the charged air cooler 91 Octane. Can run on 87. PCM03 computer will cut power accordingly... 1720 Lbs... 180 day limited warranty for recreational boating Pair of Lysholm twin screw supercharges and multiport fuel injection. Two injectors per cylinder.. No intermediate drive currently under development that they can talk about :rolleyes: :rolleyes: Pictures |

the one at the merc booth had brodix heads that had "sonny's"
cast on the heads in the back. are these one off heads? i've never noticed that on other brodix heads. advertised 9.0 to 1 compression & 91 octane, must be low boost. |

sonnys desinged the head for brodix brodix makes the head i went for two rides i the 32 skater with the 850s what a awsome package this thing flat out flew the boat is a cut down deck 32 and the tunnel is 8 inches wider 1/4 caonopys felt like a 36 the way it road that thing accelerated so hard it felt like a pro stock car alvin heathman is driving and throttling for test rides he is the won that won the worlds in in mocean this boat is over the top
