Mar Vista is just south of Longboat Pass (Coquina Beach). If you are following the ICW, going south, as you apprroach the bridge at Coquina Beach (Longboat Pass) head towards the bridge, but rather than going under the bridge veer off left (south) and it's about a quarter, maybe half a mile at most on the right hand side. Decent docking and a picnic area by the shore. It's easy to find.

If you consider Anna Maria to be part of Longboat Key (neither group would like that very much) then Mar Vista is maybe one third the way down give or take. I figure I'll be there around one/ one thirty or so. Russ

Johno, where can I get a local chart of the St. Pete/Tampa waters????

You know, one of those one page plastic covered charts that only target a specific area?????? They give much better local reference points than the big normal charts. Thanks....Russ

Mike, tried that (down here) no luck. Guess I'll make a phone call to one up there.

These charts you usually find at the little "mom and pop" type places, biat stands, etc. I saw one in a real estate office I was working in a few months back and desperately tried to talk her out of it and couldn't.

Come on down to Mar Vista tomorrow???????????

You don't have a trailer do you, or do you?????? Russ

We're gonna put in at Bay Pines, I'm guessing about 11:00.

We usually head south out of John's Pass and go to Shell Island, but im up for suggestions.

Johno, Were you talking about the Green Iguana's rith there by the Bay Pines ramp?

We will pass thru Johns Pass about 10-30am. No Bay Pines ramp for us, had my trailer damaged 3 times in that ramp. We will put in at Park Blvd. Reddington Bch.
Plan to meet 2 or 3 other boats at The Sandbar restaurant/ Tierre Verde High & Dry 11-00am.

302,
There's a Green Iguana up at Rocky Point, Courtney Campbell next door to Bahama Breeze, that was the original destination. Mar Vista is about 30mi south from Bay Pines. Meet @ Sandbar, take ICW to Skyway, across Bay to Sarasota ICW, Marvista & then head home on the outside depending on conditions.
By the way Bill , I met you when Cuda bought the from you( I had the black Harley)

Kitten we LOVE Rattlefish and if we get a late start we might go there.

Mike,
If you run up the ICW in St Pete, just south of the St Pete Police station is a little place called Bridgeview, some good eating. Don't forget the places on Pass a Grille.
We will be at MarVista till around 2 , still too early for ya?
See ya Mar Vista :drink:

Re: St Pete Boating?

I second the bridgeview recommendation....although the docks are not really very good there either but the food is very good. And I 3rd/4th or 5th or whatever the rattlefish...very cool place well. Johno, , the Baypines ramp hurt the trailer...low tide and it fell off the end? I guess this means I am lucky that I miss these things with a little boat. HA.
