I agree, by far the most impressive piece at the show. Truly a work of art! The boat to my understanding will spend a great deal of its time at the Lake Of The Ozarks. I am not going to give out the owner's name, but I am sure somebody on here will find out. MTI's best work yet...
Regards,
Tony

It was the best I saw at the show. My wife and her friend Martha both kept talking about the boat all day, that proves to me how nice it is!

they did an amazing job! the pictures just can't do it justice.

Randy Kent is the madman that owns SpeedRacer. SUPER nice guy. It is a MTI 44PR. I had the pleasure of seeing it at the factory in its finishing stages. ABSOUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!
$1.2 is the number on the boat and worth every penny.

It just proves the point I was trying to make that these machines need to be approached with tremendous respect, and the people getting in them better know what risks are involved. The speed is semantics if it blew over...it was fast enough.

By canopy I meant an enclosed cockpit, my mistake for lack of precision, but even that my not be enough for speeds that would blow over a big cat.

RIP to the ones involved in that terrible accident of course.

It was a fully enclosed cockpit with just a hatch on top like most of the raceboats have. You are right, at some speed, there is no safety gear that is gonna help. I don't think anyone will ever know exactly what happened to Ed and Roger, but Ed had many hours in his previous turbine boat (open) and knew as much about those boats as anyone-just proves that sometimes stuff just happens-and yeah, these boats can kill ya.
