We spend a ton of nights on the boat because we are both drinkers. We just anchor where we are at or stay at the dock we are tied to.

Never. We live 20 min from the lake so we just drive home. Last year we let a couple of friends sons sleep there.

We spend around 20-25 overnights a year.

I guess I'm old school I don't like the look of open bow boats at all.

The only thing that should be open passed the cockpit bulkhead in a perofrmance boat is a beer or a woman's mind.

Dockrocker, I know the 32 sunsation open also has a pretty functional cabin. You can get a canvas to cover the bow and make it like a regular cabin. (pretty cool). In my search for a boat,( took 3 years) I could'nt make up my mind whether or not i wanted speed or amenities. After a few trips on the water i realized i never went below, and if the wife and i take a trip she's gonna want a hotel anyway.
I rode on a friends 38 scarab which is loaded and rode nice but the fun began when the sticks were pinned. I guess you cant ride all day like that. Now my powerplay can run circles around his boat but i dont have any creature comforts. Moral of this long winded story.. Going fast rules. Unless you can afford to have both. comfort + big power.

10-20 nights a year. It's great waking up on the water, getting underway early before other boaters tear it up. One tip- get air conditioning. It's much more comfortable.

all the time. I'm only 25 mins from home but don't bother coming home unless I have to work for a couple days, the weather is baaaad, or have other business in town. I'm in a large boathouse with 42' x 14' slips. 6' of clean/clear water in the back of the slip early...~4' late in the season. I'm two slips from the very nice showers/baths, and paved parking. 1 block from a store and a couple blocks from downtown Alexandria Bay. Boldt Castle, ships passing in the channel, and the sunsets are right out at the end of the boathouse on the gasdock. I built in the last 6' of the slip with a deck. I have dockboxes and fridge set on joists beyond that. Deck chairs, table, a bound snap down carpet for the deck, ect. ect. Power, cable, and water dockside. Easy walk outside to gas grill.

This will be my ninth year in that covered slip, and my 15th year there overall. It's my home away from home.

During the week is my favorite time there.

Why the hell would I come home if I didn't have to? As opposed to spending as much quality time with my boat as possible and sleeping on the water?
