FYI: The Great Lakes (all of them combined, including their connecting waters such as Detroit River, Lake St. Clare, etc...) have produced more shipwrecks than all the 7 seas combined since shipwrecks have been reported. Now, these numbers include sunken "boats" the settlers used to traverse the lakes with their supplies.... so many of the wrecks are boats we might not consider "ships." Go to the Great Lakes Shipwreck museum in the Soo some time... very interesting. Just bustin, it can get as nasty as any ocean out there |

Erie the scariest because it changes so quickly.
Never been on Ontario Michigan and Huron are tough Superior will kill you and keep your body. |

I've heard that about Superior. Thats because of the depth, correct? Something like you sink so far that the pressure doesn't allow the boyancy of your body to flaot back up.

LM is large enuf and deep enuf to get pretty consistant waves up towards Grand Haven...Bit sloppier down at the bottom of the lake in Chicago... Can't wait for the snow to melt and get back on the "pond"! :evilb: |

They canceled our race in Buffalo in I think 2000, 12' to 15' crashing over the sea wall. Quite an amazing site. Jo
