New Fountain 33 Sportfish
Here is Fountain's latest Sportfish from the Miami show. 33' with twin 275hp Verados. Anybody know anything about this boat? been out in one? is it solid, fast, still good for fishing? Price? Availibility? Quality?
Thanks very much,
Pismo

It is awesome. You also pay for awesome. There were a couple sold at the show. They went for 210-240K depending on options. The nicest feature is the center helm. It will be a winner.

OB- if you want factory it has to be Mercury (Verado or Optimax). We do however rig some of the boats with Yamaha engines. It costs a little more for non-merc, though because there is NO rigging on the boat when ordered without power (cables steering, etc.) 275's are the engines being pushed with the boat at this point.

Merc has a stake in Fountain now so Verados or OPtimax. A twin stern drive version would be nice, twim 525s.

How is the reliablity of the 275 Verado turning out. Now that it has been out for a year any problems popping up? That's a lot of boost and hp for a 160 ci engine. How is the longevity? Almost 2hp per cube is very high.

So far, so good. Merc ran the Verado very hard prior to launching it for just this reason. The reality is that only time will tell.

Looked at one at the Chantilly Boat Show a couple of weeks ago.
AWESOME is the only word to describe it. I'd take one. Huge cockpit, good seating layout, ac/heat, geset, midcabin and drop dinette for sleeping.
