Its Awsome way to bring the season to a end. I launch at the public ramp at the old library 1 mile north of Piping rock. This shot taken off the dock at the "Rock" I hope I dont fail the DB test this year. :rolleyes: |

Having to seriously rethink our plans for the summer. We'd been planning since November, to trailer the boat up to New England. Had a nice job up there to do to help pay for the trip.
Right now it's going to depend on the gas prices. If it gets as bad as the doomsayers say it will, it would simply cost too much to trailer a boat roughly three thousand miles round trip. We figured originally it would cost maybe six/seven hundred bucks for gas. Now it appears it could be closer to 13/14 hundred just for the gas. And that's with the boat never leaving trailer. Hey that's what I'll do, I'll just drive the boat around. And if I want to go boating, I'll climb up in the boat and let the wife drive. :drink: :drink: |

Theres plenty of row boats and Kayaks. Theres also plenty of kids that row us to the boats. Most of the people we stay with have young teenagers that row us over. I usually throw them a 20 spot for the weekend. 10$ for the rows and another 10$ to keep away from my oldest daughter :eek: There is also a little private beach there. We usually play with are R/C boats. But mine seems to always die way out there. Usually call the 20 spot kid to go get that as well :cool: |

Great place, (we have a house on the lake). Watch your db levels, they love to bust on you for that. Keep the 150' rule in check and get a Bizer chart and you'll have a great trip! It can be nice and calm or the wind can howl - makes for some fun boating! :cool:
