Learned the hard way not to drink and drive!

Last wednesday (3/2/05), me, my friend, and my brother in law were in a drunk driving accident. My brother in law was driving and had to be airlifted to the hospital. He was in intensive care for 3 days and released from the hospital on saturday. He is ok now, but still hurting a bit. He had a fractured skull, broken cheekbone, half his face was cut up pretty bad, half of his ear was ripped off, and worst of all he had a blood clot in his brain. The blood clot showed not to be increasing in size so they let him go home, after sewing his ear back on. My sister drove him to work today to see the damage on the truck. Its pretty bad, not sure if we can fix it. We hit a tree (thank God not another car) after spending a couple hours in the ski lodge at a local mountain. It was pretty stupid of us. You never think anything is gonna happen and then it does. I guess you could say we learned our lesson. I lucked out, only a little cut on my lip and the other guy didn't have a scratch on him. Here's some pics of the accident. Anyone got a 3500 Dually for sale within a few states? We're in Connecticut. I guess thats the last time we'll drive drunk.
Matt

Wow. I don't know what to say.
Just glad no one was on the receiving end of that. It's a lesson learned, I'm sure. I'm glad to hear that all will be okay.
:)

I have to give you respect for admitting that you guys screwed up and got hurt. So many people these days aren't willing to admit when they are wrong.

I hope that everybody heals up quick.

Hard way to learn a lesson but it sounds like you guys did.
So... no sermon about drinking and driving for you.
I'm glad that it wasn't worse.

Best of luck.

Wrecked a Thunderbird 13 years ago in a situation very similar to yours (but unhurt) Haven't touched a drink since. Your lucky....remember that you've been given another chance to clean out the closet. :drink:
(Just had to throw that one it there!)

From the pics of the accident i would bet the driver was not in a SEAT BELT.

No, none of us were wearing seat belts, I should probably make that into a habbit as well.
