Yes! After reading this thread I was wondering the difference in the free board between the two boats?

I have no input on your comparison but I can say 42 staggered very nice riding/fast boat.
\\

The Hustler is deeper. This 42 that my friend bought that I compared to would only run 75 fully loaded . there must of been something wrong with it . I have not heard the true speeds of the 2003 42 with stagger?i figure 82-85??

But checkrocket is looking at the 2000 year so the Fountain has changed its bottom probaly twice since then , I dont think the Hustler has changed there bottom.

He still needs to ride in and drive both. they do drive different!!

Now wheres the girls Rob

The 42 comment had nothing to do with the thread was just my experience from riding on the boat.

Thanks for the free board comparison I had no clue which one was higher but found it to help in my decision when I was shopping

So you compaired the PQ to the Fountain?

Rob

38 to 38 the PQ had a lot more to offer including performance (back in 99).

The one thing that bothered me was giving up the "flat deck" style. But with that said we overnight every weekend and I still run 80 with 500 HP's

I had a 2002 42' with staggered 575's and let me say the boat was perfect. Handled the big seas like it was nothing. That being said, my buddy had a 388 with 502's and had no problem taking the big stuff (i dont know how the ride on board was) or keeping up. I go by him on the top end but I have a ton of respect for hustlers. I would choose a fountain but the right deal on a hustler would make me think.

Plus if you get a fountain you will need to get some new clothes, a sweat suit and a BIG FAT GOLD CHAIN, good luck
