Gibson Exhaust

Few months back saw an article on the Gibson Cat in Havasu and now in Hot Boat they have a test about those deals.

-Any body have experience with the curved model pictured here?
-How much are they for a 4" clamp on set?
-Do they hang on good... I imagine they get some pressure on them getting on plane?

The premise I think is that they are under water at idle and out of the water on plane wich makes perfect sense so I can past the test by the dock and keep anyoing the spotted howl kissing, bark chewing and tree hugging maggot infested local hippies.

GL, several OSO guys around here (JimV for one) run these kind of "Donkey Dick" (local nick name) diverters on their big motors. Other than clearance issues with the drive and steering apparatus (they end up pointing out a bit on Jims boat), they seem to work quiet well for avoiding the noise issues.

Figured Iwould have to work on the clerances with drives. I'll ask them to send me a material data sheet in order to figure if I have the right clearances but it looks like a good system.

I hope he sanded the sides of that knot hole before he started...and checked to see that the woodpecker was out of his nest...

GLH,
I talked to Gibson recently at the L.A. boat show. His prices were pretty low, I just can't remember the price for the exhaust you are talking about. The regular muffler is $499.00 a set. Gibson was a very nice, down to earth guy also.
I don't remember if you have a swimstep on your boat, I think that would "hide" these downturn exhaust alot.
