Also higher tech construction and a quality name behind them...there was something at stake. Your seeing all this reflected in the prices relative to the other boats you mention, even 15 years later. The 27 is a roomy boat with a nice ride.

The 22' is just a great little fun boat! Well built. Handle like a slot car.
Is it that much better of a built boat then a wellcraft of that era, my 87 wellcraft rides like a caddy. All my wellcrafts I have owned have pleased me tremendously

Hey guys, finally making my first post! Was just an avid reader before. I am going to look at an '87 p22 in the Lake George area. from what I have seen thus far (boat was shrink wrapped) it looks very clean. The boat is sitting on an '03 custom made trailer has a freshly rebuilt 350 mag and a new upper unit. I know the book is about 8-9k but do you think around 10k is reasonable. Rippem I will be brining this boat up to the 1000 islands areas just aways up the river from you. How did your 22 handle the river conditions. Is there anything I should watch for with this boat? I have been bumming around in a 1965 starcraft since I was 14 and when I got a job out of school I knew a newer boat was in order. Any info is appreciated. THANKS!

The '89 and later P-22's had the Bravo drive and made for a nicer package if you ever plan on engine upgrades.

There is a 1988 22 for sale around here for $16,900. No way he will get that kind of coin for that boat in Michigan. Dreaming.

Last July I sold my 89 P-22 for $15,500. I was not trying to sell it but someone offered me enough money that I said ok. His only stipulation was that it had to run faster than his buddy's older model. That was a great day but I do miss that boat at times.
