Another body shop in our area that specializes in high-end cars is B & R Auto Works in Pompano.
The owner is Pat Haughey who also is the owner of Active Thunder boats.
(and now a partner in Chief Powerboats.)
Talk to Pat and he can advise you about the repairs.


The people on the other side ARE much nicer than here in Broward. They are mostly Mid-Westerners. If I wasn't established over here, I'd run so fast from these rude M-Fers. People are the rudest here and it's a damn shame. I try to be polite and spread it around, but most of these people are so self-absorbed they don't even notice.

Actually, Pat did some work on one of my Porshes a few years ago. My Ex rearended a Cop on a motorcycle and smashed the front of the car. They did a great job.

I can understand your feelings. I would freak if that happened to my CL65 (if I owned one) I would have called the cops and filed a report at that moment. The sign doesn't mean ****. I know exactly what you mean regarding the paint. I just bought a preowned Porsche and wouldn't buy one with paint work.
I would sue the building, mgt co., and anyone else you could. Curious what happens.

I got an estimate from mercedes for $2100. My lawer is going to go for it all, depretiation, reapir, rental car. with my luck, i will probably only get a bottle of touch up paint and mothes of aggrivation!!

I know how you feel, even though my wifes new Infinity isn't an AMG Benz it is her dream car. Its not a month old and some a__hole dinged her door. The car is black like yours and its soooo obvious. She parks at the end of the parking lots, usually against a curb but her doctors office has almost no parking. So the one time she lets her guard down some jackass with no care for anyone elses stuff puts a 2 inch crease in the door. She sat in the garage for an hour crying when she got home. She has wanted this stupid car for about three years. I wanted her to get the CLK Benz but for some reason this is it for her. I would like to have seen the little prick do it........He'd think about it next time he rakes someones car. Good luck getting it fixed. I plan on trying to have it buffed out and having a paintless dent guy come out. :mad:

If you leave it for a few weeks to be repaired, and they use Glazzo or Spieze Hekker, I see no reason why anyone would have to know that it was repaired. The car is not old enough to see any noticable fade, and if it's done right, even an expert won't be able to tell that it was repaired.

The same thing happened to me, but I replaced the hood. The color match was perfect.

I buy them out at lease end. It's structured with a Big down payment, pretty high payments low resid. at lease end. I'd be crazy not to buy i and resell it. Either way,, What I pay to drive this, I want it perfect!!! Wouldn't you?? I Basically I own it as much as anyone that has a bank note on their car.

I dont own a pantera ..but no I like things to work correctly mechanicaly ..but trying to keep everything looking perfect is an exersize in futility ..all my stuff has scratches ..and you can get good deals on stuff with scratches ..its not worth stressing over .

Actually, I was looking for advice. As it says in the title of the post.The last thing I need is sympathy! There are many smart people on this board and the way it looks from the other posts I'm not the only one tht has this or similiar things happen to them. Many of the people can relate t this situation due to the fact most of the people on OSO appreciate nice things. Obviously, if buying things with scratches to save money and not caring how they look is what you prefer to do, it is your preferance. We are different types of people. I happen to work very hard and have made a lot of sacrafices to have the things I have. I waited for this car for 14 monthes. If your advice is to Go get it fixed, I appreciate your input.

I would be absolutely livid if this was my car. Not because it's $180,000 ride, but because I take care / pride in what ever I own and drive. When I was 17 I washed and waxed my VW bugs, then Jettas and my '72 AirSlot,,, now it's a Nissan Max, Suburban, & Cig, nothing special but mine nonetheless.

Point being, some do take it the 'exercise in futility' level or being anal :eek: but if that's what floats your boat then keep on truckin'. Like Lube and others always say, we are different people and that is exactly what keeps this site(life) interesting. ;)

Now dump the POS damaged piece of goods now, while you still can. I'll give ya my Cig ... plus couple bucks! Let me know LJ :D

Did I miss something? The gate was already open and you pressed your opener when coming up to the gate and it closed on your car when you proceeded through? Personally, I would just get it fixed and be done with it. How can it be worth your time and it's not going to affect the value of that car! It already depreciated 10 times that repair amount as soon as you drove off the lot! It won't be a "classic" car...and the bells/whistles will start to have problems in 5 years. It's a fancy Chrysler! :D :D :D

Exactly Lube!! I feel for ya. I'd be freakin' if this happened to me!! I drive all GMC's from a 94 Jimmy and a 2000 K2500 to a 2003 Yukon and I look after them like they were Hi dollar rides....I was taught to appreciate the things you work/pay for. I don't know what to tell ya other than I'll let you borrow my beater Jimmy and you can blow thru the gates and pin that phucktard in the booth!! While you hose him with mace!!
