I always felt they weakened the bow in a critical area in the event of a stuff.

I haven't used mine that often, but when I did they were extremely handy and I was glad I had them. The trick is aiming them. They aren't designed to "shine out front" for distance, they are designed to splay out towards the sides.
Mine are located farther forward than they were on my 242. My feeling is that if you stuff a boat hard enough where those lights were an issue, you'd have a lot more important things to be worrying about. Just my two cents. |

no, keep it clean... sometime less is better. you can add them later if you feel you must have them.

My last 2 boats have had them and they don't work. A bright handheld works much better.
