Re: Loan Interest Rates

My current loan is with Essex and they were great to work with - also had the best rate at the time (2002).

Von Bongo - from what lenders did you secure these rates? These sound pretty good.

Re: Loan Interest Rates

Depends on %down, age of boat, FICO score, etc. I got 6.24% fixed last week. Every lender I talked to that was refered from members of OSO were great to talk to and all were pretty close for what I was looking for. Good Luck!

Whats your credit score ?

That will ultimately drive what rate and terms you get

Over 720 you can get 5.13 @ 20 YRS as of 3/18/05

It should be no problem if all your credentials are good. The nice thing about a 20yr loan is it is "worst case scenario" you can always put more principal toward pmts. But if you go through a rough spell the pmts don't kill you. Plus depending on where you live you can write off 100% of the interest if you boat qualifies and you don't already have a second home.
Down side is if you aren't getting a super deal or putting a large sum down, you can become upside down very quickly.
Just my .02, Good luck

My question is since we are on lending and borrowing.........how about property, looking for a source to purchase property

Re: Loan Interest Rates

Why do I see a rate of say 6.25 then 5.12 are these bait and switch rates?

Re: Loan Interest Rates

I don't get it either. I have 720 score and could not find better than 6.5% for 20 years. If there's a legit better rate out there PM me cause I'm shopping also!

Loan Ranger 03-21-2005 07:41 AM

Re: Loan Interest Rates

There is no longer 5.12% fixed rate money out there. Do your research and interview your finance company before submitting multiple applications. No bait and switch here, just 13 years of experience with honest straight up answers.

You'll notice that rates have gone up quite abit within the past 30 days.

Enticer if you need residential financing give me a call. I'm down here in Florida and can finance anywhere in the nation.

Re: Loan Interest Rates

makes me pretty happy to have grabbed the 4.59% fixed for 20 when I did. :)

The cost of money is gonna be the biggest hurdle for me to move up next. A point or two on 200K is some jing a month...down the crapper :( ... from my present perspective.

Signed: Spoiled by that cheap money.
