Re: Which to buy?
Sorry $70.00; not $70,000

Re: Which to buy?
Sounds good.
I want 6 complete units, 3 per side. One at the rear, one in the middle of the boat around the helm area and a third up front. since I have a cat the bow does come into play when tying up with larger boats. I also would want to get 2, if not 4, extra plugs-ins since i have the square rafting cushions as well. Hell, I think I just answered my own question. I am talking over $600 to do this :( The Mushrooms would only be $150 |
Re: Which to buy?
i am converting all my cleats to the quick release style, they are some beefing units..... 1" SS thru-hull fitting and a solid chunk of SS that stays with your line or fender all the time.... just pop and go.. and when removed just look like a thru-hull fitting perfectly flush...
i think too old had a sale on those mushroom style ones, all the ones i have seen are junk after some serious use.... just my .02 |
Re: Which to buy?
Are the quick cleats made to hold a line, and not just a fender?

Re: Which to buy?
I'm putting some quick cleats about 5' forward of the helm on my Sonic. There's not much to hang on to up there and the quick cleats are a one hand operation. The mushroom type looks like it takes two hands.

Re: Which to buy?
Lucy's merc special has the quick cleats. I thought they were slick.

Re: Which to buy?
Go for the Mushrooms. They work great and look better anyhow. With the Quick-Cleats, you have a solid metal object flying around on the end of your dock like WAITING to create damage when you least expect it, and when you loan out a fender, its still on there.
