Very Cool looking. Those are going to be hot setups. How much boost are you going to run. When they come out with those for the ford Lightnings I am going to buy one. I love sending boost to motors.

Check out this video on you tube of our boat with 525's and 3.3L whipples. The boat accelerates from 60mph-116mph in just a few seconds.

These are stock Mercury 525's with the 3.3 whipple's making 888hp on race fuel. The boat will go much faster in our race setup, and we never turn the motors over 5600rpm.

More Power, More Power!
Nice setups . I understand the HP525's do very well with the Whipple 3.3's so you should have some nice engines when everything is right (ECM Programming) and Mark is great at that!
We are currently in the finishing stages and ready to dyno a Raylar prepared full Merc 496 with the 3.3 Whipple setup. We are shooting for a neat 800HP level on 91 pump gas and a modest boost. I'll post some pictures of this beauty tommorrow. Its going in a 30 foot party cat. I think it looks better than even we expected and I think it will perform likewise. I am not sure if Dustin has seen your post here but I don't think he would approve spinning those blowers dry like that, the Whipple screw rotors I have been told use the fuel coming in at the throttle body to lubricate as well as cool so I would cut that dry spinup to a minimum. Just a helpful suggestion. I know it sounds and looks cool but you don't want to possibly damage your beauties! Best Regards, Ray @ Raylar |
Ray, I just checked the UPS tracking on the carbon fiber anti-freeze bottle. It is out for delivery to you now. Now lets see some pictures and dyno numbers on that motor.

On pump gas we made about 750hp then we changed the pulleys for more power and we needed race fuel. We also had to change the maping because we where running the engine so hard all the time. Whipple's setup is a little fat and that works great for poker runs. Whipple's standard setup should work on your boat.
