Cockpit Interior
Typically what should it cost to re-upholster / bolsters , bench, engine hatch??

Re: Cockpit Interior
I think it will depend on the boat and who does it.

Re: Cockpit Interior
i just spent 500.00 for an engine hatch and 500.00/bolster.
the padding in the bolsters were changed to make them more comfy. that added to the cost. my engine hatch also had embroidery work to deal with. |
Re: Cockpit Interior
I spent $875 for an engine hatch and three headrests for a 40' Huslter. A lot depends on the size of the items, whether or not the wood needs replacement, and if you have any embroidery (logos) on the pieces.

Re: Cockpit Interior
There are so many variables here there is no good way to tell. Of course the area you are in makes a big difference too. I can't speak from experience on your Baja, but most bolsters should run you $300-600 ea. Some like the McCleod bolsters would be even higher than that. Your hatch probably $400-700, altho I had a Baja hatch with alot of design in it that ran $850. And as mentioned there is no way to tell if the wood needs to be replaced which will make a difference too. Good luck.

Re: Cockpit Interior
Looking at a 04 Fountain with blue interior trim. Can't get wife to go along because she insists cockpit has to be red. Any idea what ball park figure would be to change engine hatch, trim on bolsters and rear seats, and cabin floor to red from present yellow/purple combo. Boat has everything else I'm looking for and would like to know if this possible to change for decent price or should I keep looking...........

I had my boslters, side panels, hatch, rear seat and couple of other small pieces done in mine for 4000.00 with no new carpentry but the bolsters were new. The interior was only two years old but I didn't like the color scheme. I also had it done by the builder so that it would look factory and I would get all the embroidered pieces as well. It cost a little more than I could have found shopping around but its looks perfect.
