If you plan on coming...here is your chance to pick the entertainment. Bob Seger is out. Names mentioned are Kansas, Foreigner, Doobie Brothers, Allman Brothers.... :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink:

Three Doors Down would be great if you could get them. They have done music videos for Dale Jr. that also starred Tony Stewart in it as well.

Do you mean next year?

I have been out of the music business for a few years now, but when I left... we normally booked more than 7 weeks out.

If a band can be acquired with less then two months advance booking.... they might not be playing so well these days.

Three Doors Down is a Anhuser Busch Sponsored band, Pier 57 could get with AB and help split the bill ;) my guess would be around 150K for the night.

Some booked some not booked, the bands that I mentioned are available. You make a good point but there are several Larger Named bands that are available.

Three Doors Down was not available.

I guess that May 13-15 falls before the county fair schedule really kicks in.

I understand the remaining members of the Allman Brothers and Lynard Skynard are booking dates together. If so,that would be cool.We will be there regardless. Robert

Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers???? Does he still do shows? All live music is awesome to see. Sister Hazel is another good southern rock band , just a little more new school.

Skynyrd and the Allman Bros. must be on the "early county fair circuit". Not available. The search continues.

Fund Razor...any chance that you have something positive to add?

Skynyrd. And, no, Fund has nothing positive to add.

Sellsman(SP?, Salesman),
We've got a large contingent coming from the newly formed MCPA (Music City Powerboat Association). I estimate 12 to 20
offshore type boats. Some of us plan to run your Poker Run, and all of us plan to do some serious spectator fleet partying :drink: ...................
By the way, tell David that we think bringing OSS to Pickwick is way cool  ........we're all excitied to have top flight offshore racing nearby.
I vote Doobies, but the Allman Bros is good too.
Regards,
Steve

Steve,

My son picked out my screen name for OSO. He says that "sellsman" looks cooler than "salesman". Hard to argue with that. I think that I talked to you on the phone about available slips. Did you get it all worked out? Let me know if I can help. Pickwick is the ideal body of water for "fleet partying". (voice of experience)

There was nothing inappropriate about my posts on your thread.

When you post a thread, you are going to get all kinds of responses. When you get to oh, say 1,069 posts instead of 69 posts, you will have a better feel for who is being positive and who is being negative.

Good luck with your talent search, however last minute it is.

Welcome to OSO.

If you do that I will recruit GasHog to tell you how wrong you are. :D :D

Hey.... stop making me hijack this guy's thread. :D
I was somewhere else adding something postive.

PS.... I got a PM..... Sellsman isn't trying to flame me.
He just forgot to put the pickle smoocher at the end like this:

sellsman (I get it now),
One of guys did call down there looking for dock space (to Pier 57). It is getting VERY tight.
I ended up up at Grand Harbor with several other club members. They were very accomodating on the phone, and their dock/resort looks great on their website.
Regards,
Steve

Grand Harbor is the PERFECT spot. Maybe 2 miles by water from the race course, you might run into a celebrity or two there also. Believe me, it is going to be unbeleiveable.

What about Hank Jr. ? He lives at Paris Landing, it wouldn't be a Hour and a half Drive for him!!! Ask him to bring Kid Rock with him,, I know he hangs with him quite a bit down there!!

Re: Pickwick Challenge Music!!

It's all in the routing. We make our offers 6 months in advance. The agents look at all offers and try to make the offers and routes work. Thats where They make money and u save money. check out www.pollstar.com Make offers to different bands.
See who might be playing a date withing a few hundred miles.AB will want to know how many impressions they will get before they throw down a lot of money. Show them the marketing plan where their logo will be seen. (Think Nascar) Do not offer exclusivity to a beer CO,that is illegal, what you do ask for is Promotional support. You will save money in the long run if you have a booker. Read the rider's carefully. Make sure you are not flying people 1 st class without knowing about it, 4 limo's or a box full of brown M&M's

For the engineer's sake... I hope that Steve Smith didn't get over himself and come back to Journey. I worked with Vital Information. If you said the word "Journey" in Steve's presence he went nuts. Biggest PITA ever. Wahhh. I can't hear Baron Brown. Wahhh.... I can't hear Frank Gambale.
Wahhh... Tom Coster ate my bean sprouts.
Tell me that they hired Dennis Chambers or something.

I liked SS in Journey back in the day, but after getting to know him in Vital Information....I hope that Journey told him to stick his Sonors up his rear.

Just my opinion. I have grey hair with his name on it. :D

Ok, hijack over... sorry.
