What's with the Exhaust? Does it make more power that way, or just look different?

I looks to me like they are CMI headders that someone modified. Seeing that it's a Bandit motor; I have a friend who does a lot of welding for all the speed shops down in that area maybe he made them. I'll check with him next week.

5300 pounds and built like a brick house. Ran 85 with the "A" motor. Originally built to qualify for and run the Worlds in KW. Too bad the Worlds were run on a circle track in Galveston Bay that year. Looks like someone has been in the rigging, the transom area looks pretty untidy. Other than that, it looks like the day I sold it (less power). As for the exhaust, I had originally set the engine on a rail system that allowed me to change the CG on the boat in about 45 minutes. The exhaust running side by side made the swap easier and allowed me to bridle the two pipes together for support. It also put the exhaust at the highest point on the transom and farther away from the waterline.

Hello Steve,

I built it but it's not mine. Not my style of boating any more. I like to be able to hear the stereo (four cycle outboards are amazing) on my boat and get things reel bloody with a nice school of dolphin.

You know you have a standing invitation but you never come down. I’m beginning to think you’re allergic to the sun.

Hope your well.

Eric Yah I know, but i just bought two more pieces of property and the mortgages kick in soon. I am caught in the rat race so Ive postponed the next heart attack and any holidays till next winter. We are launching the boat May 18th so I will have at least one day off this year. Save a schoolie or two for me. :drink:
