Ain't THAT the truth.......
Ain't no way I'd even considered going out in that crap. Boating it supposed to be about fun, not the stress of "what/when is something going to break".
Last year at the same time, a bunch of boats broke and the Gulf was not nearly as kicked up as it was yesterday. It was a smart decision not to run.
Still breezy today but nothing like yesterday. I would imagine the seas are down considerably, at least enough so that those bad boys could go out and "lightnen the load" for the trip home.
I just love listening to them leave and watching the glass on the condos shimmer.

I think that in ten ft. seas or better, even the 47's and 51's are going to have a hard time cause EVERYBODY is gonna want to go fast........
And as we all know, that's when stuff breaks.......

Years ago, I signed up for a kingfish tournament and paid my money. The day of the tournament, it was rough as hell, but being young and imortal, we decided to go anyway. We were in my 18 foot CC, and the seas were 6 to 8. It was so rough, I wouldn't let anyone on the bow to drop the anchor. When we got back to the boat launch, I jumped off my boat, ran up to the parking lot and kissed it. A guy saw me and said, "Rough out there ain't it". I learned my lesson that day.

It would have been irresponsible of PRA to hold the run in those conditions. With all the type A personalities there, you know someone would have gotten seriously hurt. Some people have more balls than brains. Just glad to see nobody got hurt.
