Memorial Day 2005 on the St. Johns River, Fl.

It's now the Riverfront Inn. It was ok when we were there, but it wasn't anything special. I'd say it's not held to Holiday Inn standards anymore.

No wake zones/manatee zones, after you leave Hontoon going north, the first one starts about 1/4 mile before the hiway 44 bridge, next one is about 1/2 mile or so long when you are coming into Astor(hiway 40 bridge) 3rd one is in front of Jungle Den, 4th is at the half moon fish camp and the 5th one is before you reach the Jetties going into Lk. George.
Hope it helps, Nick

If your going to try to get into Silver Glen on a holiday weekend, the best advice I can give you is be there early(like be at the glen by about 8:30 in the am or so, or you'll be anchoring out in Lk. George.) That is party central for the freshwater boating crowd in this area.

is it possible just to idle into the Silver Glen later in the morning/afternoon, or is it just packed by then, and there is no way in and out after 8-9am?

If I could get the wife to get out of the boat, we might be able to do that!
