i saw the video of that a while back too funny, what a bone head. notice the condition of the bottom of that blowboat, what a piss poor looking job of bottom paint. he probably has dirty underwear on too, just one more embarrasing thing in a day full of them :evilb:

That is how JC checks what kind of keel the blowboat has. Obviates the hassle of gittin the fork lift out of the barn, plus you git to go out for a sail and swim.

Shows why many SF sailors NEVER go outside the bay. The Pacific Ocean is a misnomer.

Actually, it looked to me the tide was likely emptying San Fran bay, creating a big surf with the Ocean. It really rips under the Golden Gate Bridge which is where the photos are taken. It is lucky the surfer dudes were there to help the sailor, who should have chosen a better tide time to enter that area.

Sailboats are as exciting as watching paint dry on a wall. :evilb:

Well, I used to think that way, but reading the wind and racing other snailbotes IS fun. Think I'll pass on the TransOcean races though..too tuff for me.

IF the wind is right, snailboting can be terrific. Trouble is, you really can't just go when and where you want to. Plus, it is a pain to learn all the engine parts scattered all over the sky.

Guess that is why JC was on board a snailbote recently, people thought he would have expertise in that. <gg>
