Re: no speculation on why but bad wreck

One of my friends was one of the guys riding his sled in the water. A buddy of his went for a ride on that boat 1/2 hour before this happened. The boat owner was not consuming ANY ALCOHOL. From my friends description, it sounds like the owner had too much boat for his experience level. This was his 2nd boat, the first being around a 21 footer. This is also not the first time the guy has spun out this boat. It also happened last year, but he was lucky.

Just like all the other accidents that happen this way, it shows that lack of experience and common sense can be dangerous/deadly. I am soooo glad nobody died here.

If I hear of anymore details I will post up.

Why would anybody in there right mind try to "spin" out a boat? Even if you could break the boat loose and make it spin with out catching the surface and rolling, why would you attempt something that stupid? Did he think he was driving a wave runner?

I would think if that lake is that shallow someone could catch ground, turn his drives or break his steering and make a boat roll but to try and do it on purpose would be just insane....

Lets give the guy the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe it was just an accident. If it happened to one of us, and we all know sh*t happens, I'd hate to come on this forum and find everyone trashing me with out knowing any facts.
I hope him and his passengers are o.k..

Was it on the lower river, looks like it was near the new conservation area where there is a quick left 90 coming from the south heading towards broken oar, i know from hunting on the lower river you can walk across most of those spots, its real shallow lower river thats for sure, :( :(

Plus its like the first day of 70 degree weather and if you look, there is so much crap floating out there like full trees and some huge azz logs, id say its a little early to be boating on the fox, just my 2cents.!!!!!!!!

Ditto - class act. I'm glad I decided to stay with them and wait for them to build the bigger boat!

The guy from Sunsation just stepped up to the plate big time . . . I don't own a Sunsation ( heard nothing but good things about em, however ) - but that kind of personal involvement speaks volumes about INTEGRITY. My hat is off to him.

Boat looks like it held together pretty good to me.

Let me guess. The owner's 1st and previous watercraft prior to the Sunsation was a Wave Runner???

"Hey Joey! Watch this! It turns like it is on rails!"

Glad everyone survived and hopefully all learned a lesson or two....
