Leaking drive oil from above bellow area???

I noticed a small amount of drive oil leaking from above the bellow area, viewed from the outside of the boat. Looking at the drive, I can see the drive oil dripping down from above the bellows and flows down to the right side of the drive.

It's hard to see into the bilge as there are two large bilge pumps mounted. I'm going to see if I can get something through the drain plug to see if there is drive fluid in there.

What are your thoughts on where the oil is coming from and what should I be fixing? How can I investigate further? I was thinking of removing the drive to view in bellows, but it looks like it's coming down from above the bellows.

Thanks in advance for your help!

What kind of drive?

I had similar problem when we put TRS drives on boat because of failed check valve in gimble and improrper gasket between drive and gimble.

Replaced check valve and properly installed the gasket and solved peoblem on TRS.

If I am understanding you correctly, the gear lube seems to be leaking on the outside of the boat. If this is correct, the only place I can think of that the lube can leak from in that area is the upper bearing cap "O" ring.

Yes, from the outside of the boat. If I look up under the drive from the outside of the boat, I can see the bellows and then above the bellows I can see several rubber tubes that have signs of gear lube.

Pulled the drives and moved the bell housing all the way to port. I can see the drive flued hose and where it connects to the brass fitting on the transom, I can see that they have a tie wrap holding on the tube. My thoughts are it is leaking from there and should have a stainless clamp on it. Going to try to fix without taking the bell housing off....

Anyone ever take the bell housing off? How difficult??
