Consensus on Drive Lube???

OK.

I bought a case of Amsoil AGM (Marine Gear Lube) but the rating on the bottle is ambiguous. It says GL-4 and GL-5. So which rating does it really have?

Also, how well (and with what) should a drive that previously used Merc HP be flushed. Actually, the drive is new but came filled with the green stuff. Are there any issues with mixing the Amsoil with the residue of the Merc green after draining?

Sorry for the resurrection of the drive oil thread but I'm still looking for a Consensus.

Good luck with that.

I run the Red Line  I just let the drive drain for 24 hours but move it all the way up for an hour then back down. Seems to get the most out. 50 hour changes.

AMSOIL AGM (Marine Gear Lube) is completely compatible with PAO, PAO/Ester, Petroleum and Petroleum/Synthetic blends.
