Electrical Gremlins, or faulty battery hookup?

Long story short. Go to start my boat yesterday. Hydraulic hatch won't open and things are beeping very weakly on the console. figure its weak batterys from the long winter we had. Go out and buy 2 new batteries, Interstate Cranking and Interstate Deep Cycle battery. I turn the key halfway and get a nice loud beeping sound. However, hatch still won't open, blower doesn't work and radio is dead. This boat only has 11 hours on it so hopefully all those things didn't break at once :D . I checked the fuses and they were all good. Is it possible I hooked up the dual batteries wrong? I connected the cranking batter to it's main positive feed line, then I connected the deep cycle battery ot its positive feed line. Then connected the main negative feed line to the cranking batttery. And lastly I conected the negative joiner/cable from the cranking battery to the deep cycle battery. Is this right? :(

It sound right but it also sounds like you may have missed a ground there...
Even though both batteries have a jumper ground between them the deep cycle battery should also be connected straight to ground (ie engine block or ground block) Since you have part of your boats electrical system dead it sounds like a ground may not be connected. Look around it may have falled behind something and you missed it when hooking everything up. Also try and put you battery switch to ALL and see if that helps any.

Check the ground on the back of the block and also at the starter

I forgot to mention that the boat still runs. It's just that half the accessory's don't work and the other half do. Strange....

Ground connection somewhere possibly corroded. I love it when electrical diagnostics miss. Can I have your old batteries? :D:D:D
