Re: Quest for speed... gear ratio/prop.

Well... I already have the drive in place so we'll see what happens. I'm going for mechanical advantage here and I think this will work out well. I still have my 1.50 drive to fool around with also.

Paul... the hull construction is very similar (at least with my older boat... it's an '83). Anyway, the difference is in how the cap and internal configuration is setup. The Santara (Sundowner for newer models) places more weight forward than on the Liberator which has more bias to the stern, hence why your combination carries the bow much better than your brother's.

Hoping to get her wet this weekend if I can get my shift cable changed out. Should be fun being back out on the water again.

If you go to the Fourwinns site, and go to either documentation or archives (can't remember what they call it), and look up the "Fast Facts", all the info from the original brochures is there scanned, and in pdf format. I don't think they go back to 83 though. Check it out.

Re: Quest for speed... gear ratio/prop.

Just confirmed....

The Liberator from my model year (titled as an '83 but is an '84 according to the brochure) is the same hull used on the Santara. :drink:

Now... if I could only move the weight back some from the bow I'd be in great shape! :D
