Hello engine builders, I need a little help.

A couple of last things to do before I get the 509 up and running.
I brought the deck height down to acheive proper squish and cut the heads slightly to ensure they are straight.
Now I need to cut the intake.
How do I measure for this?
Seems like I could measure across the ends of the block, allow for the intake gaskets and use this to let the machine shop how much to take off.
My intake gaskets mike at .061 before torquing.
Any advice on this?
Thanks.

How aout does any one have a stock 502 block that they could measure across the top of to give me a baseline of what this should be?
Thanks.

Revomaniac,
Calculate metal removal on a BBC intake manifold as follows:
For .010 removed off the heads or deck, cut .007 off each side and .0193 off the end rails.

Also, if your machine shop didn't have some insight into this I might find a new one to deal with.
