7.4 mpi SMALL HP INCREASE?
 

Are there any minor mods that can be done to a 7.4 MPI(310hp) to get a few easy HP say 10 to 20? Ecu reproramming or anything ????? Thanks,WR

Better Exhaust.
I changed out the cast iron stuff with Stainless Marine and gained 150-200rpm on top...

are a typical set of aftermarket headers running in the two thousand dollar department. That's what i have seen for the 7.4L so far

Without getting into the internals, not a lot you can do with that motor. It's unfortunate. I agree with the exhaust being a minor change, better flow and much less weight! Lab the prop.....

Kind of what I figured. Im collecting data from prop testing and plan to work with bblades and see what he can do. I knew the engine wasnt modifiable but I got a good deal on it and its in very clean condition,but once you push the throttles its hard to stop! is the exhaust for a 7.4mpi interchangable with other big blocks so when i do upgrade engines I can swap it? I have Custom Marine literally in my town Menasha,wi and have talked with the owner while boating. so I will look into Exhaust,and a lab prop Thanks!
