Carnage.... #1 u joint and outer belhousing
:evilb: OK so i splashed again today and i blew the carrier that holds the two ujoints on the input shaft. the joint surfaces were good but the carrier had a saddle stretch and break. i was not going fast and i would say i have a total of 3 min at 5 k or above. at 80 mph. So...... it must have been a weak part. I inspected it but it did not magnaflux it. The only real problem is it took out the outer bell housing as well. I am ordering a NEW shaft and joint assembly. I do not want one that someone has been jumping with. I have heard stories about the hp gimbal assembly but i do not think i am going that route. Dose any one in the Midwest have a good used outer bravo bellhousing? It is supposed to be nice here on Sunday so i would like to have it on the water by then but i suppose it will not happen.
Please email me at [email protected] If i do not get any feedback by tomorrow noon i will probably just order new. thanks for any and all help in this department. |
