Nope, all correct HD stuff.

Just talked with Kodiak tech guy. He said the clearance between the hub and caliper is so small, that some times there will be contact. Not uncommom. The tolerances in the mounting bracket, hub outta round, caliper mounting bolt holes and diminsions some time just all add up to clearance issues. His advice was to grind a little off the bottom of the caliper ear and pads. Sounds like a band-aid fix, but that's what the doctor suggested.

I put brakes on cars and trucks almost every day at work. The only time I've ever seen brake pads hit the hub like that were when I installed a set of heavy duty pads on a 97 Suburban and it needed light duty pads to fit correctly. The hub would turn but scraped on the outer pads. Very similar as your picture shows. "...but thats cars and trucks..."
