Is there a good solution for getting rid of my milkshake oil
I have just located the source of water into my crankcase (leaky exhaust riser). I have an M-1 procharger and a lot of milky oil. Any suggestions as to a flush I might apply? Or should I just perform a couple of oil changes? My engine is a Merc. 7.4 MPI with a dip stick removal method (ie I suck the oil through the dip-stick but not all comes out)

Make sure you use a special addative with the flushing oil that is designed to break down the grey sludge and absorb moisure. It is made just for flushing engines that have water in the oil. I forget the brand name but most large auto parts stores sell it. use a cheap 30 weight oil. I would do at least 2 oil changes with the addative before you fill with good oil. Make sure you replace the filter after each flush. I would also change the oil again after the first couple of hours of running.

Just a couple of changes. Any excess will burn off when up to temp.

DO AS MANY AS IT TAKES UNTIL THE OIL IS CLEAN !!!! Oil is alot cheaper than a set of rods and mains installed. Do a couple, suck it out and then open the drain plug on pan. You must open plug on pan to get all the water out. Remember oil floats on water. Water will sit on the bottom of the pan.
Happy flushing :( :( :( |

I agree. If the oil is clean run it. ;) When the engine comes up to temp the mayo stuck to the top of the valve covers will evaporate. |

but about 2 quarts of tranny fluid in with 6 quarts of oil, will clean the water out.

Half oil, half diesel. I've done it several times. Usually, only one time will cut the emulsified oil out. I only run it at idle a couple minutes.

Diesel works great. We usually fill the case with diesel, DON'T run it. Dump it out then do what cuda says and definatly don't rev it. The diesel tends to foam. Dump it and run 30wt with 1qt of trany fluid and let her get hot. Dump it and do 2 or 3 more regular changes. Spend the time to get it clean clean clean, otherwise you'll wipe a main or a rod.
