Re: Tuning on a procharged 502
I always ran ac43's at .040 w/msd 6,the 42's were just too cold(always fouled). If your not running over 6 psi boost you could go .045 w/msd. If ign is stock, keep it at .035. I could never get the plugs locally :drink: that procharger reccommended,ac's are cheap. I also run 10 degrees base timing, not 0 or 4 but crockett's program pulls timing out under boost. I am getting ready to dyno 540 w/ the m-3 on it,changed cams, freshened motor, heavily modified mpi intake (just finished today, converted to twin efi rails and 63 lb injectors),went to cnc'd afr heads, had new pistons and chambers&exhaust runners thermal barrier coated ,i hope to see 850 plus hp,i will post a thread soon on the rails and some of the mods, etc,Smitty

Re: Tuning on a procharged 502
Thanks guys. I was beginning to think no one was going to talk to me. I'm running the ac 43t's my gap was a little high and I was getting a high rpm misfire. Smitty, I swear I'm going to have to ride in that dangerous sob one of thes days. 80 mph is scary in a 272 I can't imaginehow yours is going to be. Stay safe, Ken.

Re: Tuning on a procharged 502
Misfire? Probably because of big plug gap BUT-pull cap and rotor and inspect,my original distributer looked like it had been under salt water inside(green, corroded, literally had wires crumbling off pickup) after 3years and my new msd after 2 years looks just as bad,i don't run in salt water and my engine compt stays pretty dry!!!
