Oildyne Trim Pump Help

Hello,

Is anyone familiar with how to remove the sump from an Oildyne (Kiekhaefer) Trim pump? Mine has a gasket which is not seated quite right, and I end up leaking oil out of it in rough water. I have tried unscrewing it like a filter, and it loosens, but does not back off. Turning it back clockwise tightens it. Am I missing some other hidden fastener or something?

Thanks!

The plastic reservoirs have a single screw on the bottom too. Are your pumps screwed into the transom?

Mine were always leaking and I changed out the O rings and they still leaked. Then I cut 12 degree wedges and put them betwwen the pump bracket and the transom. Now they are level and do not leak. Most transoms are at a 11-13 degree angle.

Mine have the metal cannisters. I'll look for a screw in the bottom, but I didn't see one before. Thanks for the help. The offending pump is actually mounted on the forward bulkead. The tab pumps are mounted on the transom, and they don't leak a drop! I have a spare, but natrually, I put power to it, the relays click, but it doesn't run. Time for some cannibalizing...

Yes, the cannisters do in fact have a screw in the bottom. A lot easier to see once the pump is off the bracket... Thanks again for the help!
