What is this little puck in my bilge?
There are two of them in the forward section of the bilge. same spot on both sides. Looks like a #10 screw coming out of it. There is no marking or any indactor in this area on the outside of the boat. What is it? |
Re: What's this thing in my bilge?
it looks like some one left a grinding disk and covered it with resin
not sure what the heck that is. I had to go check my excalibur to see if I had that there but I dont . its hard to say what previous owners had done to boats. I know I found a few odd things in the bilge. good luck Brad |
Re: What's this thing in my bilge?
Is it possible it's part of "Bonding System"?

Re: What's this thing in my bilge?
maybe a thru-hull transducer for a depth gauge? then again i don't know why there would be two.

Re: What's this thing in my bilge?
Looks like it was for mounting something else, rather than looking like some kind of transducer.
I have never seen a transducer that looked like that. |

Roby But one of mine hangs off of the transom. |
Re: What's this thing in my bilge?
Might be a mounting plate for transducer with hole drilled and then sealed at factory for optional electronics package install.

Re: What's this thing in my bilge?
Could be a plug for a water intake port.

Re: What's this thing in my bilge?
They have been in there since the boat left the factory. The factory gray bilge paint was covering them when I got the boat.
I'm looking for a place to install a shoot thru transducer so I'll need to remove coring to do that. I was kinda hoping I could just cut one of these out to do it. I was hoping somebody might have seen these before. Thanks! DS |
