Hyd. roller set up.

Okay you engine gurus. What spring and spring pressure would you run? T& d shaft rockers, 7/16 pushrods, Canfield Heads, Comp cams 242 248 @ .050, 612 637 lift, 110 int. c/l, 112 lobe sep. ( 565 cu. in.) What rpm do you think the Comp. Cams hyd. rollers would go into valve float w/ piston to valve issues. The engine has about 9.2 comp.w/ one small intake valve relief on a flat J E piston. Also where would you set rev limiter?. 38 cig.general performance use. I am moving away from solid rollers and want to stop wrenching so much! Ultimatley I would like the valve train to live as long as the rings and bearings. Thank you in advance. Dave

You may want to try some of Morels HLT hyd. They only have .030" hyd movement, you set like a solid at Zero lash and can run 200# seat pressure on them.

If you haven't bought the cam, I would rethink that stick to.

That combo is good for ~650hp....pretty sure that comp stick will run to 6000 rpm with ~160# on the seat, but as cstraub said, those morels and a bit more pressure would ensure you stay away from valve float, and like he said... a bit more cam too ;)
