trim help
I have a 1996 26 foot scarab with a bravo drive. The trim button has quit working correctly. It will now raise the drive to the top of trailer position.
On my boat there are no trim limit switches mounted on the gimbal pivot pins. Does anyone know how the limit on these unit are controled? I have posted a help question in the technical forum but no one seem to know how they work. Thanks for the help. |
Re: trim help
if you have an HP gimbal assemblay with no trim linit switch on the side then you have no trim limit, and never was any. The rotary switch on the side of the gimbal is the only style they ever made.

Re: trim help
I know that the trim button use to not raise the drive all the way. What I'm trying to find out is what stoped it. I also have talked to 26scarab a member here. He has assured me that his trim button works like mine use to. He is going to look at his drive to see if there are limit switches on it.

Re: trim help
No limit switch, the drive will stop when the rams run out of travel.
My Alpha hasn't a limit switch either. I can trim it up till the prop blows out or the rams reach their limit of travel. Don't try running the engine with the drive trimmed all the way up. It's very bad for the universal joints, the gimbal bearing, and the drive bellows. |
Re: trim help
Correct, but it use to not work that way.
