I don't have all the specs in my head or paper right here by let me try. 540 CI , 9.3 to 1 CR 1050 Dominator Comp cam about 600 overal lift. Prototype Canfield heads not yet available to the public (2.50 intake and 1.75 exhaust). These were designed just for a 540 marine engine at 5200.

Here's a before shot |
Re: On the Dyno today
cool, sounds like a good friend to have :D . . looks like they will have a winer with those. this head was developed specifically for a marine 540 huh?
|
Re: On the Dyno today
Yep , relatively small ports to handle 540 CI NA at a max of 5200. This combo gives you an optimal port velocity for an cylinder charge and a torque monster. You could also use them on a 502 that you were going to spin a little harder :drink: .
|
Re: On the Dyno today
Wild exhaust ports! Good job!
|
Re: On the Dyno today
They're canted the same as the exhaust valves
with 9.3 to 1 I almost could but the boost wouls be SO low it would hardly be worth it. Besides , these were designed with 89 octane in mind because that's available most places  |
Re: On the Dyno today
I'm still curious, exactly what springs and hyd. rollers allowed you to go here w/o vale float?
|
Re: On the Dyno today
Night,
I already stated there were Compition Cams lifters and springs. Want part #'s perhaps??? :D |

12 pulls later , jet in , jet out , timing up , timing back here's the results :evilb:
637 hp @ 5400 and 679 ft lbs torque@4500  |
Re: On the Dyno today
Nice F L A T torque (you almost can't call it a curve!)
I know you built it as a N/A motor but, I'd love to see a mild supercharger set up on it, that thing would be in diesel territory :D Thats going to make a sweet marine engine. |
Re: On the Dyno today
Yeah , but twice the rpms as a diesel
