Only replaced Valve springs, retainers, locks, seals, the cam is fine and so are the lifters. Matter of fact the springs were fine just didn't want to find out the hard way.

Re: hp 500 valve springs

I recently replaced mine too.
Went back with the Comp 929-16's, and new Crane retainers and keepers. It doesn't matter which retainers and keepers you use. They are the same dimensions...

My 1999 HP500 carb had 180 hours on it and had VERY weak springs all the way around. Two valves were spinning...

My cam and lifters were also perfect.
