Why higher oil pressure

I have a Gen iv 502 Carb that was stock running 40-50 lbs
oil press. I changed the cam lifters valve springs and added roller rockers, all crane matched. new cam 530/550 lift
226/236 dur. The oil pressure is now 60 lbs @ 700 rpm's
and 70 lbs @ 2000 rpm's. Crane tech line thought it could be a
restriction at the roller rocker push rod and oil hole not lining
up correctly. I have changed rockers back to stamped steel
and have the same high pressure.

Re: Why higher oil pressure

Is it possible that the new cam is a little tighter and thus causing a higher reading ?? Also depends on where you are taking the reading from.

Re: Why higher oil pressure

Reading at sending unit port above oil filter pad. boat
guage and mech. gage read same. I think 60-70 lbs.
is to high, will be hard on cam gear and dist. gear .

Has this happened to anybody. Do you think this pressure
will cause damage to main bearings or dist./cam gears.
