Please help an electrical idiot (battery rewire)

Here goes, motors are out, battery switches are out, yadda, yadda. Had a guy do some wiring last year and he added another switch, wired the bilge pump to switch, boat almost sank.

So this year I'd like it right.

2 motors, 2 alternators, 2 batteries, 2 1-2-All-Off switches, showerpower, battery charger.

What is the best way to set this up. Can it be done without spending a bunch of money on isolators and combiners, etc.

I also want the option to add a 3rd battery easily if the new stereo draws too much.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

James

The only thing you'll need an isolater for is 1) If you want 1 charger for 2 separate battery circuits, or 2) you want 2 batteries on 1 circuit, which will be charged by the alternator, but drain 1 (ie fwith the radio).
I would suggest addressing #1 with 2 battery chargers.
#2 will require an isolator and separate wiring for the items you ant running off the isolated battery.
You can wire them in a variety of ways, depending on what you want them to do.

Gary, for scenario number 1, my battery charger is a 2 bank, will this not be able to charge both batteries even though they are on seperate switches?

I have the Truecharge 10TB Truecharge

If it's made for 2 banks, it's got an isolator built into it. Problem 1 covered.

On the Perko website, if you go to the old HTML catalog, and select battery switches. there will be a link that will diagram the hook up for all different types of configurations.
