Merc #5 question
Does a Merc #5 have or need a trim block like a bravo has? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Thanks

Re: Merc #5 question
Chuck- I've got SSMV's and I'm not aware of any limit blocks. I just went through a go around where I had to replace one of my Kiekhaefer drive trim pumps. The Merc manual says that some drives have a transom limit switch. My drive trim pumps seem to just deadhead. I'm having a little trouble understanding what you're worried about hitting what. Even with the drives trimmed way up for trailering, etc. I can't imagine them being close to anything. Maybe I'm really missing something. If so, I'm sure that someone will clarify things. For your information, Merc recommends that you run the drive all the way down for winter storage to keep the bellows from taking a set. Or at least they did a few years ago when I bought that set-up. Just trying to help.
