Amsoil Marine gear lube
Has anybody been using the Amsoil Marine gear lube. I want to try it but the stuff looks really thin. It is suposed to be a 80w-90 GL-4 weight oil but it looks alot thinner than other drive oils.

Re: Amsoil Marine gear lube
I have about 5 hours on it in some #5's. No problems. Actually the slightly thinner viscocity may save some hp from being used to spin the drives.

Re: Amsoil Marine gear lube
I have been using the Amsoil 80-90 gear oil now for about a year and a half. I run the boat hard and change oil every 50 hours. So far I have not had had any drive problems. (Knock on wood)

It may reduce drag and it may not. What kind of film strength does it have?? I truly liked Series 2000 lube....the new stuff I would like more data on. |
