External Belt Driven Fuel Pumps, why is it...................????
Friend of mine asked me to post a question for those in the know.
588 ci drysumps with belt driven Fuel pumps. Question is once the pumps are primed and you run the boat week to week everything is great. If you run it every second week it's fine also. How ever if you wait 3 weeks the fuel drains all the from the carbs back to the tank. And then the whole system needs to be primed again. More times than not it's not an issue using a cordless drill. His concern is if it ever loses prime on the water, then it would be a (B) to get it reprimed. So Is this common with the Belt driven pumps? Or is there something failing or missing that needs to be taken care of? Thanks in advanced for all your help. Cougarman |

not sure on the belt driven pumps,
I just ordered a ck valve from areomotive #10 It was about 62.00. That is supose to stop this? Earls and XRP makes them also.Mine get worse when the gas tank is low on fuel. |

Recieved Kinslers Fuel Systems, check valves, Nice Stuff!
Built real well, they have an internal metal flapper, much like an exhaust system. open supper easy and seal real well. They are installed and work great, also improved the initial cold start up. Used to die atleast once, now that there's fuel there it just keeps running upon the turn of the key. Thanks to all Cougarman |
