Mildew stain in headliner
I have an old 311 with the "weave" headliner. I have some orange-ish mildew spots- uh, in the headliner -and would very much like to get them the F off. Anyone have any suggestions? I do not want to further discolor the fabric, but I hate the spots. Thanks. :drink:

Re: Mildew stain in headliner
There was a thread in last day or two about yellow coming thur white vinyl. Final amswer was the adhesive was bleeding thru. Possiblity in your case also?
Ultimate cure I think was acetone--but that's not an answer for headliner. I got some 303 Fabric Cleaner from West Marine for my Sunbrella stuff. It's a possible agent that won't harm the fabric. |
Re: Mildew stain in headliner
Thanks- I do have some of that bleed through on my vinyl in the cockpit. I know this is mildew and it is in the headliner in a couple of places in the cuddy and in the head locker. Same thing on my old Baja. I looked at the 303 website, looks like the stuff to use.

Re: Mildew stain in headliner
Why not try to make a solution out of one of the super duper new 'oxygen bleach' powders and spray it on ?
Lots and lots of advertising $$ have gone into telling us how safe this stuff is over the old chlorine based bleaches. Might be worth a try .... |
Re: Mildew stain in headliner

Clorox Clean-Up in the spray bottle will do the trick.
