Help with slight vibration

I am feeling a slight vibration in the boat at 3500-4000RPM. It doesn't show up at lower RPM's and I don't really notice it at higher RPM's. Also, when I put the starboard drive in reverse, I can hear a slight ticking that seems to be coming from the gear shifter?? It does not make this noise when in forward. I have 575's with XR drives. Any input would be appreciated.

Re: Help with slight vibration

Anybody have any input on this?? Could the ticking noise be resonating through the shift cable? If so, what would this indicate? Thanks.

28,
The ticking could be from the shift fork bouncing off the brass rings on the gear inside the drive. Put you hand on top of the drive when it is doing it and see if you can feel it.. Linkage adjustment will help that.. Going to far into gear...

Dick,

Thanks for the reply. Could this be related to the vibration in any way? Would u-joints vibrate at only a certain RPM?

Thanks.
