Water leak Bravo 1
Over the winter I had to rebuild my engine the guy that installed it and he outdrive is gone and I have water slowly filling my bilge. Having never had this problem does anyone have a idea what the cause could be?

Re: Water leak Bravo 1
Unfortunately there are many places the water could be coming from since the motor and drive were removed. Best to take it to a Pro and have them correct the problem.

Re: Water leak Bravo 1
Checked it twice couldn't beleive it was leaking, very slow but leaking. I hope it does not soak my hull.

Re: Water leak Bravo 1
Take it to the ramp, leave the back tie downs on and back it in until the transom plate is tottaly submerged. Use a flashlight and an inspection mirror and you will be eable to find it. It's better to do it durring the week cuase your'e gonna block the ramp for a while.

Hillbilly has a good idea, you could also run it on the hose and see if you have a water leak in your cooling system. If you take it to the ramp though you can look for leaks running and not.

Re: Water leak Bravo 1
Found my leak it's below the drive shaft 2 allen bolts holding a plate with about 9/16 dia. hose passing thru out to the drive.I don't see a good explanation in my stern drive book.Any suggestions I assume the drives got to come off?
Thanks |
Re: Water leak Bravo 1
the 9/16 tube, does it go to the reservoir bottle or is it the speedo tube?
