couple of questions about my new 540 ci N/A
 

I don't know all the specifics so I have some ?s.

open timing belt, pros and cons? Mine is leaking oil and would like to know if this is common.

There is another oil leak, looks like it is coming from back left corner of the intake manifold where it meets the block and head

I pulled the front plugs and both where covered in oil. Is this normal and why, why not?

Plugs are Autolite 3924, any good? hot, cold, in the middle?

How can I determine compression?

Motor has alot of power between 4200 rpm and 5400 rpm.
