what is the max safe temp on a bravo 1 drive. i had one at 150 and the other at 220 and was only running 3500-4000 rpm
both have showers, full of gear oil royal purple, i know at wot hard running they would go up over 200 but never at crusing.

Re: drive temps

220 sure seems awfully warm. I rebuilt my own alpha one once and watched the temp on it to see if I hosed up the bearing pre-load and it ran about 150 max. 220 would put lots of water mineral deposits on the case I bet. Anything change recently?

Re: drive temps

Im not sure, but the thing that would make me nervous is the 70 degree difference in the 2 drives.

How are you reading the drive temps?
Just wondering so I can check mine.
